TILLERS REP Empty
PostSubject: TILLERS REP   TILLERS REP EmptyMon Nov 19, 2012 6:28 pm

DOWN AND DIRTY TILLERS REP PAGE

Each successful harvest rewards 50 Tillers reputation at level 90. Below level 90, harvesting does not reward reputation. Each Ripe vegetable crop yields 5 vegetables. Rarely vegetables will grow as Plump crops, which grant an extra 3 vegetables when harvested. Harvesting crops may also yield other things:

Jogu the Drunk (found near the water at Halfhill Market) will make a prediction about tomorrow's vegetable crop for 25g (less with friendship, free when Best Friends). Planting Jogu's suggested crop results in crops which yield 2 extra vegetables when harvested.

Jogu's predictions have a timing quirk that applies to those farming between midnight and 04:00: Based on Averiy's observations, Jogu makes a prediction from 04:00 to 04:00, which applies to crops harvested in the following 04:00-04:00 period. "The time that matters for the prediction is the time you harvest, not the time you plant. If the prediction he gives today (for tomorrow) is Striped Melons, you must wait until after 4am tomorrow to harvest to get the bonus." Further explanation and examples can be found here.

Harvesting crops may trigger achievements:

Vegetable seeds are also sometimes gained while harvesting a crop - but only the seed that grows the type of crop harvested.

Certain Tillers friends will send you seeds once you reach their Best Friend rank, which theoretically allows a few Special Crops and Blossom Trees to be grown before reaching the Tillers rank required to buy the seeds.

Blossom trees are harvested to produce single-use items that can be used to plant the harvested tree somewhere else in the world (illustrated, from left, Spring, Autumn and Winter). Replanted trees last 3 minutes. Only one tree of each type can be replanted at a time, since the tree item has a 3 minute cooldown. Blossom trees are bound when harvested, and cannot be traded.

Special Crops "grow" materials used in many primary professions. Songbell Seeds are the most valuable Special Crop if you personally need Mote of Harmony (or the Spirit of Harmony motes make). Mote and Spirit of Harmony are bound, so cannot be traded. But they are used in many professions recipes. Cultivating Songbell Seeds makes gaining these materials asy. The main (alternative) source of Mote of Harmony are creatures in Pandaria - but only about 1 in 10 corpses contains a Mote - roughly a hundred world kills to make one Spirit of Harmony. Other Special Crop seeds grow items which are easily gathered by those with the appropriate profession, and traded via the the auction house. Indeed, planting and harvesting most of the other Special Crop seeds can take longer than finding and gathering something with the same yield in the wild. And gathering from the wild does not use one of your few soil patches! Kaliope has further analysis of Special Crops.
